How to make US TV work in India

I bought Samsung 40 inch LED TV from US to India.

Here is the simple 2 steps to make it work in india:

STEP 1:

Voltage difference:

US 110, India 240.

So i bought a step down transformer (~ Rs. 1000).

Watch out for the capacity(watt)

STEP 2:

Video format difference-

US: NTSC , India: PAL

As expected directly connecting cable to TV did not work.

solution 1: So i used in-cable set top box from my local cable operator for few months.

luckily it had output setting support for both NTSC and PAL.

solution 2: i changed my house so now i am using dishTV DTH connection.

the truHD set-top box is working well for me.

solution 3: one of my friend had bought PAL to NTSC video converter from bombay ( ~Rs: 8000) and is working fine for him.
